Brother Ben Hoff to Present a Program on "The Masonic Ritual Cipher" Print E-mail

Please join Union Lodge No. 19 F&AM on January 19th as we kick off our Masonic Light program by welcoming a distinguished guest and lecturer, Brother Ben Hoff, from the New Jersey Lodge of Research and Education.  Brother Hoff will be presenting an interactive program regarding Masonic Ritual Cipher Systems.

Brother Hoff describes this program as follows:

I hand out xerox copies of portions of lodge opening ceremonies from different jurisdictions (including bootleg NJ ritual from before we had an official cipher) coded using different systems. The brothers and I work out the opening ceremonies using the different codes. So not only is it group participation, it also shows concrete examples of the many different ways that lodges can be opened. I also bring the actual cipher books to pass around and examine, including an original copy of Browne's Master Key, which is over 200 years old (1798), and a hand made NH cipher, all from my collection.

If you plan on attending, please register for an account on our site and RSVP so we can prepare enough food.

Dinner served at 06:30 PM - Menu to be announced.
Gavel will sound at 07:30 PM
