In an emergent communication on Friday, December 5, 2008, Bill Tanchak and Frank Moschella, Sr. were raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason in Union Lodge No. 19.

Pictured from left to right are Senior Warden, Levi E. Wilson, Worshipful Master, Larry C. Hriczak, R.W. Frank Borello, Jr., P.D.D.G.M. (Grand Lodge of NY,) Frank Moschella Sr., William S. Tanchak, Webmaster Scott G. Arnold, Junior Warden, Gordie Barrett and W.B. Rev. Gary W. Filson. (more pictures)

We had an excellent turnout with 35 brothers attending from almost every single lodge in the 12th district as well as many current and past Grand Staff.

Bill Tanchak, who was entered over two years ago, showed dedication and perseverance indicative of a good Master Mason by continuing his Masonic pilgrimage this year through much hard work with an unrelenting stickler of a candidate instructor.

Frank Moschella had the distinct honor of being raised by a dear friend of his, R.W. Frank J. Borello, Jr., P.D.D.G.M. of Great Kills Lodge No. 912 on Staten Island, NY. R.W. Bro. Borello is about to receive his 40 Year Certificate from his home lodge. Happily, his friend Bro. Moschella, will now be able to be there to see it.

Both Frank and Bill did a beautiful job of proving their proficiency in the Fellowcraft Degree in the traditional LONG FORM. They did this in the presence of two past masters and their instructors on Monday, December 1. They then performed an abbreviated version of this examination, reciting the modes of recognition and the obligation, in the presence of the lodge just prior to our election of officers.

We, the brothers and officers of Union Lodge heartily welcome our newest brothers Bill and Frank and look forward to their continued involvement therein.
