Brothers Scott Arnold, Steve Wisniewski and Gordie Barrett of Union Lodge became Knights Templar and members of Trinity Commandery No. 17 on 22 November (Scott & Steve) and 17 November (Gordie), 2008.

All present had the good fortune to be knighted by a distinguished group of Sir Knights.

Scott & Steve were knighted at the annual Commandery Festival hosted by Sir Knight Michael F. Lakat, Right Eminent Grand Commander of Knights Templar for the State of New Jersey.  His distinguished guests: Most Eminent Otis Appling, KYCH, 33°, Grand Commander of Knights Templar, Prince Hall Affiliation, for the State of New Jersey and his Grand Staff.  At this event, fifty six Masons were knighted.  We were treated to a rousing speach given by M.E. Otis Appling who stated he was looking forward to making the most of the visitation compact signed by S.K. Lakat and himself.  The event culminated in the Sir Knights present donating to this year's Grand Commander's charity, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (http://www.specialops.org.)  The Sir Knights present donated $682, bringing the total to-date of over $1200.  Please see the picture of Sir Knight Scott Arnold with S.K. Appling and S.K. Lakat.  Scott is in the left, rear of the picture.

Gordie was knighted at Trinity Commandery by Sir Knight William L. Koon, II, Most Eminent Grand Master, The Grand Encampment of Knights Templar, U.S.A., who was in the East for the event.  Also present to oversee the work were Sir Knight Thurman C. Pace, Jr., Most Excellent Honorary Past Grand Master, The Grand Encampment of Knights Templar, U.S.A., Sir Knight Michael F. Lakat, Right Eminent Grand Commander of Knights Templar for the State of New Jersey and a long list of Most Worshipful, Eminent and Illustrious brothers.  The event was hosted by S.K. Richard A. Hammill, Commander of Trinity Commandery.  Notable work was done by Eugenio "Mel" Melendez, H.P.G.C., K.C.T., K.T.C.H. Aide-de-Camp Grand Encampment, U.S.A. and Recorder of Trinity Commandery.  His ritual work is truly something to be treasured.  Gordie is third from the left, back row.
