Last night Worshipful Master Larry Hriczack and Brothers Alex Kolbasowski, Gordie Barrett and Scott Arnold from Union Lodge manned the NJ Freemasons booth at the Middlesex County Fair with Worshipful Brother Larry Madigan.  Though rain was in the forecast, it did not prevent us from fostering public awareness for our gentle craft.  Thanks to all of the brothers who attended this important event, especially Worshipful Brother Madigan who worked tirelessly to organize this outreach effort.

Union Lodge's Annual Summer Fellowship Picnic hosted by WB Roy K owalski's
Open to Lodge Members ONLY except by invite

From Worshipful Master Larry Hriczak:
Brothers - the Lodge Picnic is coming up on July 19, 2008.  Please make any Union Lodge Brother not on this e-mail aware.  WB Kowalski needs a count of who is planning on attending.  If you know, one way or the other, please e-mail him with a copy to me. Also, below are items that we are looking for Brothers to provide. For example I plan on bringing two case of soda (1 diet coke, 1 regular coke) and baked beans.  I am also bring 2 tables and 16 chairs, so we need to bring less from the Lodge.  Please let WB Kowalski know what you will be bringing with you.  I am asking that you e-mail WB Kowalski directly with a copy to me by July 12th so that the Lodge can purchase what is not donated.  Also, we will need help to set-up the tents and bring chairs and tables over to WB Kowalski's.  We need a truckor trucks and helpers. If you can help in that regard, let WB Kowalski know.

The numbers have been tallied and the reports are in - this year, the brothers of Union Lodge No. 19 F&AM managed to raise $2,000 dollars for the ARC of Somerset County!

Due to the hard work and perseverance of the lodge, our ARC Benefit Breakfast was a rousing success with total proceeds of $640 dollars.  In addition to the breakfast, Brothers of Union Lodge raised a total of $1,360 dollars through their external fundraising efforts.  Whether at work, at school or at home, our Brothers worked tirelessly to uphold the tenants of our Brotherhood: Wisdom, Strength and Beauty.  Wisdom, in recognizing a cause as just based upon its merits; Strength, in planning and executing fundraising efforts despite facing significant hurdles; and Beauty, in extolling the virtues and compassion for others that our Gentle Craft seeks to cultivate in its members.  You have shown what Masonry is all about!

We would like to offer our sincere gratitude to those who contributed their time and resources to such a worthy cause.  Today, there are a whole bunch of people in need who have found some measure of relief... and we thank you for that.

North Brunswick Township 2008 Memorial Day Parade Report Print E-mail

On Memorial Day, May 26, 2008, Union Lodge No. 19 marched in the North Brunswick Township’s 53rd Memorial Day Parade to honor all American soldiers who sacrificed their lives serving this great country of ours.

This was the first time in a very long time that Union Lodge has participated in this parade. I am reminded of the credit card ads:

70 lbs of candy to pass out to the neighborhood kids:  $125
An awesome banner to let the community know who we are:  $105
Beginning to earn back the respect and admiration of our community:  Priceless

We had a beautiful day for a parade. The sun was shining, the sky was cloudless and the brethren turned out in good numbers.

Thank you to all the Brethren who came out to make our ARC Benefit Breakfast such a successful event.  We have all done a great thing by coming together to raise money for this important cause.

Pictures have been posted to our photo gallery and will be distributed via email to all those who provided their addresses at the breakfast.

We would also like to remind everyone that the second half of our fundraising efforts to support the Somerset County ARC will be held next weekend, Saturday, May 17th at Duke Island Park.  Brothers from the lodge will be walking to raise funds and awareness and are currently looking for sponsors to help us out.  If you would like to donate, you could do so online safely and securely by visiting this website.
